Colour Correction Stuff by moni158 Colour Correction Stuff by moni158
Unpretty badly made tutorial looks bad... but its the content that matter I suppose :iconotlplz: ?

I am sure there are spelling errors everywhere and I am terrible at typographical stuff and graphic design :iconlazycryplz: so plz forgive meh.

A lot of people are asking me to make a colouring tutorial, well honestly I just use photoshop's layer effects to do all the work for me, here are my favourite layer types etc and a little bit about what they do.

With the right tweaking its easy to make effects like these

All made using the technique of correcting then painting multiple times :) And the curves tool which I forgot to add, basically all it does is which part of the curve you grab effect the value its closest to, e.g if you grab the bottom and move it you replace all the black tones in your image with either green/blue/red, you can also use it to add or remove colours accordingly. I always try to make sure there is no back or white anywhere in my images, this means when you do finally use it, its a lot more powerful ( specially with highlights )

*edit OMG *sobsobsobsob* thank for the DD :iconhappytearplz:

Thanks for this guide. I haven't tested the different layer effects because it was confusing figuring out which effect would produce what and when it was needed. You make it much easier to understand.

I've been wondering what those layer effects actually did for years. Bless you for this submission. In retrospect, I probably could have used Google to find out but... so many PS tutorials are just crammed with artsy jargon and they're totally incomprehensible. But not this one!

I feel lucky about finding this, since I just recently discovered these color effects and noticed that they're a lot of fun, so thank you for this... ^__^ It was nice to read how does each one of the color layer thingies work technically.

And no, this is not badly made, at least to me, since I love simple tutorials that are easy to understand. Ayy. c:

Really nice job explaining how the different layer types work. Maybe I'll actually use the different types beyond multiply and overlay, haha!

Thanks.  I have to admit, if there's any magic in PhotoShop, it is how intuitive and easy layers have become to work with.

Oh my gosh, thank you for making this tutorial. I brought a piece to the illustration club I'm in and most of the people told me to mute the colors (which I did), but someone suggested to use adjustment layers to make the piece more monotone and I've been wrapping my head around how to do it until today. You've just made my life a whole lot easier!!!!!!!!

Stuff to learn.

Some day I'll get the hang of the greyscale first.

It will probably save me a lot of time in the long run.

I understand how people use the grey on the multiply layer and its super easy
but like
ISNT IT SO BORING
YOURE SUPPOSED TO HAVE FUN WITH THE COLORS AND PICKING PRETTY COLORS AND SHADING WITH THEM AND EVERYTHING IS PRETTY AND FUN But that's probably why my colors aren't as good as they could be buT ITS SO FUN
