Humans don't .... by moni158 Humans don't .... by moni158
"OMG I hate people!"
"Animals are so much better!"
" I wish i was born a wolf/horse ...etc"

I can understand admiring an animal but wanting to be one is just beyond me, or thinking they are superior/better than humans....

I don't think these people appreciate the amazing odds they faced to become a human being, out of the thousands of ova and millions of sperm, you were born, out of every species on the planet.... you turned out a human, a creature capable of higher thought and reason and the ability to process the world around you unlike any other animal to have evolved.

*edit, lots of people are misinterpreting this stamp, its about appreciation not who is better. Capice?*

It depends on the humans and animals for me. I think humans are really smart, but sometimes we take advantage of that ability. I think we can do a lot of good things, but also a lot of bad things. However i'm not saying animals are any better. They can be just as bad as humans...but in the end it's just a matter of comparison, but also what we become.

I agree with you though

I don't like humans but it has nothing to do with animals

I love being a human. I'd rather be a human than anything else.

Animalaboo logic:
One human kills a dog.
Therefore all humans are bad.

Humanity is not evil, most of humanity care a lot about animals. In fact, most of humanity care so much about animals they call humanity evil.

Sorry, but I disagree with you. We can't overcome our collective behaviors. Only a rare few are decent humans who realize this. We're arrogant and think we're greater than the universe itself. We have no right to call ourselves the best with the way we've been trashing everything we get our hands on. We abuse the planet and its resources. Yeah, we're not living like a Paleolithic tribe, but our fancy tools aren't greater than nature and the universe's cycles. The cycles that we and our inventions are apart of. Science and religion never even existed before we created them. They have no place in the universe or in nature. It's only something that we use to make life a little better and we can relate to. And even those aren't free from human error and misguidance. We've used both science and religion as weapons, but continue to act as if both haven't played a part in it all. Pointing fingers and playing the blame game.

I can see helping the blind/deaf/mute, amputees, etc. Mind transferring to a robot or virtual reality? You think spam is bad now, wait until your mind becomes a machine. Corporations and the government will have a field day with such breaches into your minds, bodies and personal lives. And I bet there will be someone controlling your internal functions. Someone could very well hack your body or virtual space.

We see mind controlling Smartphones and Google Glass as 'progress', but it's making real life interaction very hard, if not, impossible. Singularity and other crap like that simply means it's going to be easier for someone else to control your own body. Let some EMP wave hit and you're dead. Oh, and it won't lead to immortality either. Technology also dies. Idiots.

Biological immortality? Longer living cells have a high risk of becoming cancer. Have fun either being mind controlled or a ticking time bomb for cancer.

Oh and what makes us think that our natural instincts will just magically disappear because we've moved to another planet/moon? Humans like power. Human-turned-robot or not. There may not be any money involved in the future civilizations (if we get that far), but humans will love power to the end of its time. It may be transhumans wanting to kill all of the non-transhumans. Robots wanting to kill all non-robot beings. You can't escape it.

However, no other planet is safe for human life. Heck space travel alone will expose us to a lot of unhealthy amounts space radiation for long periods of time. We've evolved perfectly and specifically on this planet for a reason. Too bad we're too carelessly destructive. I admire the efforts being made to try and reverse the process, but it's like trying climb a muddy, steep slope. More mud keeps coming.

All of this technological "bliss" now and we still have poverty, corruption, arrogance, greed, and wars. We're just perfect beings who deserve to outstrip any and everything, right? I fear for the universe if we ever get that far. It's so pristine and doesn't need to be touched. However, humans and their greed will never leave anything untouched. They want to control everything. They'll learn the hard way that control is an illusion. You can only bend the rules so far and for so long.

Utopias don't exist and we've been fooling ourselves for far too long.
