Hands holding objects/things

Hands are very dexterous, and can change shape to hold almost anything. This makes them very difficult to draw, but dividing them into shapes and remembering there key features can make it a lot easier.

Fingers aren’t straight, they curve inwards. If you bend your fingers you will notice they curve more inward toward the center of you palm, appose to all facing the ground. This allows them to curve around a variety of objects easier.

When drawing hands holding an object it’s generally a bit easier to draw the object first and draw the hand around it.

Remember to keep in mind the shape and weight of the object or texture as this will effect the way its held. If it’s heavy the wrists might be bending a bit or the fingers closed tighter showing more definition on the tendons etc.
