Meaning is obvious I would presume If not its a development on the concept of being a prisoner to the functions of your own body.
I really really want to make a little interactive flash comic things but I suck and I jump onto the next project before I finish the first one...derp
This one was on fertility and all that jazz. I myself don't want children and never have. ( I am still young but the thought of having a child really does not please me ) All my art is generic and boring so I though maybe I would make some stuff about my own interests and philosophy.
I still need to finish my dream creature one, I have made plenty of the frames but...all the editing...and assembling the music...and doing text and story lines....omg....I think I will make a few shorter ones before I jump into the deep end and fail miserably.
*edit* Interpret it however you like. If it means something different to you then share it in the comments I would love to hear what you think.
A very powerful image for me. I've never wanted children either and have been knowingly told for almost 20 years now that 'some day I will' like not wanting children is something only children think. There's echoes of 'reproduction being a woman's purpose/duty/expectation' still present in society, with women expected to be either high-powered spinsters or mothers.
And that's not even touching on the financial (average about 1-2K per year?) , physical and emotional burden that females are a prisoner to for 30-40 years.
On top of *still* being paid less for doing the same job, in many industries (depending on country), because of that womb. (And in times past - coming *this close* to being classified as without a soul by Greek philosophers because of the whole birthing process.)
And what if you have kids? You're restricted in what you can/should do whilst pregnant and breast feeding. Then you're chained to the products of your womb by both biological impulse and law.
Blech.
I like that you hid her eyes. It lets her be more open to interpretation.
Personaly, it kinda made me think of two things, that how some parts of the world women are just baby makers, and bound to that role, and then theres the stigma, but thats my idea. i love it! the chains really give a wicked effect, and the hair over they eyes kinda gives it an air of sadness to it perhaps?

Every woman can identify with this...
On another note
I love how you colored the skin
