It's rare to see a merboy painting and I have a soft spot in my heart for them. This painting was an attention grabber for so many reasons. I'm also tickled by their expressions. I love looking at a painting and wondering in the back of my mind what's next? It's like the beginning of a story...
pfff i agree with a prior comment, he does look like a guilty puppy xD perhaps these 2 already know eachother? he might've been hungry and got himself into the net to nab some easy fish, only to be hoisted up lol she's just all like "you again? this is the 5th net you've broken just this week" haha and the poor guy's all "5th? uhh...i thought it was only 3. ...i'm in trouble now aren't i" haha
I clicked the button before I sent the rest. lol oops
*she hoisted the net with the help of the pulley crane it tugging and catching more than usual as it was lifted out of the water with the day's catch. She gave the crane arm a swift kick "come on now you ol' piece of carpfish. Don't give out on us yet". As it emerged from the water and over the boat, the woman was amazed at the beauty of the merman caught in the fishing trap. Her voice caught in her throat at the fantasy of fairy-tales brought to life before her. He looked concerned but not exactly frightened as he struggled to untangle himself from the webbing of the net. He gazed upon his captor, her auburn tresses tied back loosely. He noticed she had separate fins...wait no..those weren't fins; he realized. It was a thing from folk stories he heard as a merboy by the wisest of the mer-people of Atlantis. If he recalled correctly, they were called humans. Creatures that lived on land and walked on things known as legs. He was intrigued by the creatures from the moment he heard the stories, and by some twist of fate--despite him being trapped, he was not concerned--now he could see one close up. Her beauty matched any of the mermaids back in Atlantis, it was if he was under a spell.*
And that's all my mind can make up at this time. lol
I love him! Can I have your merbabies?! XD His expression is just adorable. It just says "Oops. Did I do that? Uh, you didn't see that.... I'm in trouble aren't I?" Her just standing there is funny. this is just so beautifully done! Make more of him please!!!
I love their faces! ship lady like: "Really." merman like: "Ummm...Y-You have a spare right?" *leaps back into the sea yelling sorry over his shoulder* awesome job as always! i wana take a boat out to sea now… lol
