KUROKO NO BASKET. You definitely need to watch this if you haven't already. Although I'm not sure if it's your taste or not. But I didn't think I would like it and hey. I'm obsessed now.

If you like Samurai Champloo you might also really like Cowboy Bebop. It's got that same mix of humor and style of fighting and is just really fun.

I don't really know what you're looking for or really what you watch already but if you end up liking LOK I think that you'll like DC's Young Justice. Both are brilliant at bringing in dark themes and a interesting, suspenseful plots. Also, I think that I would love you forever for drawing fanart from either. :) Enjoy LOK because it is a lot better than you think it will be (I was on the fence for a while but, it's worth it). :)

Although I don't watch anime all that often, I fully recommend Tora Dora. It's a pretty interesting and awesome(ly sweet) anime.
Manga-wise, I recommend everything from Godchild/Cain Saga and Vampire Knight, to Tail of the Moon and Faster Than a Kiss. Kaichou Wa Maid-Sama! (aka. Maid-Sama) is very interesting too. :)
I'm only naming a few right now, mostly because I read a ton of manga, and those are some of the ones that pop off the top of my head. :D

But, if you're interesting in reading books too, I always recommend City Of Bones, the first book of 6 from the Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare; (there's 5 out, and the 6th/last one comes out in 2014).
The Summoning (1st of 3 in the Darkest Powers Trilogy) is also very good. All three of these are out at this time. :)

I've been deliberately putting off watching Korra. I sat down and watch the last air bender movie (yes that live action movie that was no where near as bad as people made it out to be) something like a year ago. that was the first time I saw anything Avatar (in motion). It piqued my curiosity enough that I found the series on netflix and marathoned the entire thing in more or less one sitting. then watched it again a month later. in the same way.

as such I'm wanting to wait until Kora is complete before sitting down to watch it.

LoK is great, but it's even better if you've watched the original series. As for other recommendations... I would say GoT but you already like that. I'm also a fan of, among others, Doctor Who, Tiger&Bunny, Speed Grapher, Baccano!, Mushishi, Hellsing (the OVA's, not the anime) and Trigun.

OHHH, Legend of Korra, that is good, you'll like it I'm sure :D I'm not quite sure on what else I could recommend however... Someone else mentioned One Piece and Trigun, I'd second those. I think Rurouni Kenshin's awesome too, and would probably be something you could like. Maybe FMA Brotherhood, or the original, but Brotherhood gets more love by most. Seems I did have some ideas after all. :XD:

Like other people on here, it'd be great if you watch the original Avatar series before Legend of Korra! You'll see how Republic City came about and you'll understand the older characters more and you'll be introduced properly to the whole bending/magic concept :)

I didn't like the legend of korra at first but it is actually very interesting toward the end. Samurai champloo is one of the best anime series I've ever seen!!!! I watched it 3 times :meow:
I think you would like "Cowboy Bebop" and "DN angel"

Have you watched the original Avatar series yet? XD
Well so far all the anime you like I like, so I'd recommend.. Neon Genesis Evangelion (watch a bunch of kids all go insane, just 26 episodes and they've been condensed and re-made in AMAZING new movies :p) and Mushishi (super pretty, just one main character to remember, really original and interesting and another short series).
My mommy just bought me the Samurai Champloo box set, after having just a few episodes on random dvds, happiness >:3

Hm, suggestions?
The Wallflower (the animation's not so great, but the humour is awesome)
Wolf's Rain (uh, makes you cry)
Cowboy Bebop (as others have suggested)
The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (I personally prefer to watch it in chronological order, but some people say watching it in the TV release order is better, makes it more intriguing. I also personally hate Haruhi's personality, but it's worth it for Kyon and I think Haruhi grows on you...eventually...or maybe never.)
Are You Alice? (Interesting take on Alice in Wonderland. First of all, the majority of the characters are male, including Alice. Veeery cute. And slightly creepy. I prefer the manga, but it's an anime too.)

The Avatar world is really great. I suggest seeing the first series before moving to LOK. You'll have some time before the next season of LOK airs. I think LOK will be much more enjoyable after you watch ATLA (so you can rage and fan-girl and blah). Plus LOK is only meant to be a mini-series.

The Secret of Kells! Sorry, saw your avatar and just had to comment. Saw this movie just last week.
And yes sadness! I wish it was a full series and I'm hoping they'll make more than just two books.

Secret of Kells is my all time favourite movie! \:D/ Hope you enjoyed it. ^_^
and yeah, I hope they make all three books, although I wonder what they will do. Maybe some catastrophe in each nation? *shrug*
At least we know book two is on the way :iconhappytearsplz:

I watched it since the artwork reminded me of The Thief and the Cobbler (you should check it out!).
So I looked up the wikipedia page for the Secret of Kells after watching the movie and it was apparently inspired by the Thief and the Cobbler!
I really do hope we get more books. New villian in each book apparently but I do want them to clear some things up about Amon like how he "took bending away" and such.

If you fall in love with LOK I suggest watching the original series related to it, Avatar: the Last Airbender because that is all kinds of amazing (the animated series of the 21st century in my opinion) even if it's 3 seasons. Ask any fan and they will say 3 is not enough haha :D

Also Soul Eater is very awesome if you wanna watch something japanese, it's completely shounen and very funny~

Sorry if anyone has already said this, but have you watched Avatar: The Last Airbender? If not, I HIGHLY recommend you watch that before Legend of Korra.

Other recommendations (excuse them if you've already watched them): Fullmetal Alchemist and Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood (yes, both), and Soul Eater. Maybe Blood + (pronounced Blood Plus). I can't think of anything else right now. =P
