you never watch before right? He have real proof who behind companies's illegal download.
This is so true. If we don't do anything, nothing will change, regardless of how slim the chance of this bill being passed. They caught us off-guard, and now they're one step closer to control the Internet.
They made the add-on illegal under the SOPA
along with Tor.
Just thought you might wanna know.
Especially, we are more and more aware about the seeping corruption that is happening around us all. Not just in the US, but also around the world in general. We realise that people that have real power (eg. tons of money) are able to corrupt and control people that are supposedly in power. These things are really happening and things like SOPA are the proof that these "special interests" and their actions are real and are getting known to the general public, which makes them anxious. After all, knowledge is one thing those interests don't want you to have.
I don't believe I'm pulling these statements out of my ass, because we have things like SOPA that came into existence. I'm sure there are other bills and similar things happening as well. Maybe for a psychological effect, maybe to have leverage to act in force. I don't think anyone knows yet. But it just seems that everything is going towards a certain direction. Some people want to get more and more control over us. (those people must be mentally ill imo, probably either some sort of psychopathy, paranoia, extreme greed or something for them to go to such extent to try and push this kind of bill through).
Looking at all of this, it makes me a bit afraid. Knowing that these dangerous men want to gain total control over entire aspects of our lives, all for money's sake, and perhaps because they love to be in total control.
I think that SOPA will eventually pass into law, as far as politicians are concerned (I watched US congress discussing about it, and from what I remembered, and what I understood (lol) the results weren't good (for us)). So, special interests will probably keep pushing it through by lobbying. Just a couple of briefcases from the corporations that will benefit from SOPA, and the politicians will ignore most, if not all, of our pleas and they will pass the bill through their "machine". I have no faith in these people, not when someone can slip cash in their pockets.
Only hope I have is that the US Supreme Court would make the bill void due to it being unconstitutional. My hope in that is slim though, because even those people can be bought out.
I believe that if it goes to law, people will fight back. I just wonder how far special interests can push people until it gets ugly. Occupy Wall Street is a preamble to this I believe.
So, now what?
...Well. >_> I won't say it's impossible. But it'd be more likely to pass if somehow the proponents caused a US Reichtag fire or something and pinned it on hackers or Iran or some bunk.
I concur, however, that being complacent in the idea that it won't pass is dangerous. How many times have we heard that quote used... what was it...
Evil only triumphs if good people do nothing? yeh, I think that was it.
It still feels like if the severity of the fears surrounding these bills (Surely, this wouldn't be the last, like sharks testing the waters) comes to pass, it would be the straw breaking the camel's back. I Hope anyways, people would tolerate it no further.
