Am I the only one who doesn't mind any of these? o.o

It usually depends. Most movies have at least some traces of sex and violence. And if you want to watch a movie and/or read a book, you can check the ratings to see what you're getting into. It's not like the media doesn't warn you ahead of time. We as viewers/consumers of media have a right to know what we're investing into, and as long as we live by common sense it shouldn't be a problem.

Definetely sex. You can't watch ANYTHING without seeing people going at it. I know it's a part of life, but it's not always nessecary to make everything a soft-core porn movie, you know? Plus, it gives people unrealistic expectations and makes it seem like a terribly casual thing; it's a big deal to a lot of people, and it should be treated with respect and discretion, not paraded about.

racist themes.
Hai-Panda-Star Featured By Owner Nov 22, 2011  Hobbyist General Artist
LoL, I think it's funny that in our culture sex is considered more inappropriate than violence;
Because sex is a natural part of life and people getting their heads blown up is not.
*shrug* But that's just me.
sasb123 Featured By Owner Nov 21, 2011
D: I'm sad that more people put sex than violence.
Cant we all just get along.. and make babies? XDDD

If by "other" you mean: "Crazy *** ripping open bodies and splattering blood vessels and brains all over the floor, windows, ceiling and other people with teeth, chainsaw or some sort of 'slaughterous' weapon..." .........Then yes, I vote for "other" 'o3o

I dont mind violence, neither sex, but when movies try to make a weird combination of both, then, that's different. For example "Splice"
That movie was just to much of both worlds and more.

I liked that movie...:iconotlplz:
mayreni Featured By Owner Oct 5, 2011  Student General Artist
lol I liked it in a weird sorted of way. But, I also have to admit , that movie was out there, for craziness.
bulletproofmind95 Featured By Owner Oct 1, 2011
violence... because i think that something like sex isn't really the problem in the society, but hitting someone is ... the worse
OriginOfWaves Featured By Owner Sep 30, 2011  Hobbyist Traditional Artist
i don't mind sex and violence in games if it fits nicely in the whole package, what i mind are stupid stereotypes and treating gamers like idiots.
Blubblehat Featured By Owner Sep 29, 2011
Everyone knows about human reproduction so I dont think its a problem, but if you dont like that, thats fine. I think sensitive subjects like racism, etc. should not be made fun of. I find that inappropriate.
DeviantRoberto Featured By Owner Sep 25, 2011
I'd say both to an extent, because it is different everywhere. Violence is most definitely allowed in the U.S.A, but somewhere else sex is the norm.

none... there is a reason for an R18 rating lol

I'd say both are about equal depending upon how you portray them and if the said media is properly rated.
nervene Featured By Owner Sep 23, 2011
Neither, unless you have relatives in the room. Sometimes that can make sex scenes a bit awkward.

I'm okay with both but sex makes me feel unconfortable

sexual content and nudity do not belong the most out of everything that is in video games i do not want my little bro playing video games that have that
ArtFanatic1231 Featured By Owner Sep 22, 2011
Sex for sure cuz I mean just because it exists doesn't mean we have to advertise it in everything.
shadow-vegeta Featured By Owner Sep 22, 2011
I can't say sex nor violence. Cause they're in our everyday life.

Yeah ok, sex is a tad bit overkill to put in media, but there are restrictions about it (not that anyone follows them :iconwthplz: ) And I'm not even touching media that DON'T contain violence :stab:
Mesoterra Featured By Owner Sep 22, 2011
Voted other. Necrophilia (with and without dismemberment), sex with dead animal parts, bestiality, midget porn, erotic asphyxia, Tyrannous Leeches, among other things bother me more then just sex or violence.
randombrunette778 Featured By Owner Sep 21, 2011
Having three little sisters and a little brother, I voted sex because I don't want them to be confused or exposed too early to inappropriate things or media that glorifies sex all the time, but I feel that violence is trickier because it's a lot easier to get de-synthesized to it, and obviously I don't want them to grow up thinking it's okay to see others get hurt.

I normally don't comment on these things, just had to throw my two cents in. :)
SerenityMikadzuki Featured By Owner Sep 21, 2011
I say "sex" just cuz...I dunno why. But it seems like violence is much more accepted in our culture 8O
IHeartMusic20 Featured By Owner Sep 21, 2011  Student General Artist
It all depends on the context for me. In romantic comedies, a little sex scene is okay, I can deal with it. In horror movies or thrillers, well, what's the bad guy there for if not to be violent? What I have a problem with is when there is over-the-top gorey brutal torture or murder in a movie. I don't see the point and I think anyone who enjoys watching it is secretly (or openly) sadistic. As for sex, I think it's only an issue when it pops up in a movie that you're watching with your parents. That is really awkward. So, as long as things like sex and violence are used in moderation in the movie and contribute to the plot, they are appropriate.

Goodness, I wrote a lot. I didn't know I was so strongly opinionated. o.O

murder shown! like blood all over the place and the bowels showing! I can't watch that, it's digusting
Blayze-23 Featured By Owner Sep 21, 2011  Hobbyist Traditional Artist
i think sex is a little more inappropriate, it really spoils a good action movie for me, im like WTF? It depends on what level of violence, some times its light and funny/ comedic, gun fights are boring, all they do is press a trigger (unless its the matrix) i love sword fights in old japanese/ chinese films.
ladym317 Featured By Owner Sep 21, 2011  Hobbyist General Artist
I think if its gratuitous I dont' like it. If it's story appropriate and tastefull I don't care.
Numede Featured By Owner Sep 21, 2011
In movies, I think nothing is really inapropriate as long as it has a purpose, whereas, on my opinion, violence can be really inapropriate in video games, especially when we all know that the PEGIS are rarely respected ! :aww: Considering that there is an interaction with the world, the characters, the stories etc, I'm quite choked by the great violence in some video games... =(
SweetGirl1401 Featured By Owner Sep 21, 2011  Hobbyist General Artist

Sex,is not heavier than violence.
I play Mortal Kombat 3 and MK9,I have only 13 years, but,i don´t think ths would stimulate me,because the violence in this games is simply ridiculous,a movie or game are all art,but depends on the value, what he shows, like shooter games online, they have not history,so they can´t show something more human,I have played Red Dead Redemption, but it shows something realistic on the history.
The protagonist has a reason to kill people,to have his family back, not because he like,it only depends of how someone interpret.
JackPricey Featured By Owner Sep 21, 2011
The only thing I'm scared about, is how much I wan't to be in some games and movies.
DonovanMcEwen Featured By Owner Sep 21, 2011  Hobbyist General Artist
I went with other because it really depends on the setting and mood behind it all. Rape, being both combined, is something that I don't ever like seeing...especially since it has happened to a couple girls I personally know really well.
Eerie-Lullaby Featured By Owner Sep 21, 2011  Hobbyist General Artist
Sexual conduct and violence have ratings for reasons. If you don't like the contents then don't watch the movies. It's the same things about the things I am about to name when it comes to things I don't like to see in movies. Thus I don't watch the movies.
Rasism, Homosexuality bashing, personal belief bashing,, and things like that...
Sorcerer-twins Featured By Owner Sep 20, 2011
I HATE it when they have sex and sexual stuff! It takes so much more away from the movie when the women are in the end only treated as an object for the guy to have. AND CUT OUT THE TIGHT STINKING OUTFITS! IF LADY-GAGA WON'T EVEN WEAR IT ON STAGE THEN IT DOESN'T BELONG IN A GUN FIGHT!!!
KusaFai Featured By Owner Sep 20, 2011  Hobbyist Writer
I would have to say both.
Overly done violence were blood is gushing everywhere and is extremely detailed like a guy getting his head bashed in with a rock is to much.

And as for sex I see it something intimate and special where it shouldn't be thrown around so much like it is.
citizenkane1941 Featured By Owner Sep 20, 2011  Student
other- Violence and sex are parts of humanity. Now advocating assualt, rape , murder, racism, sexism is a different story.

It's just that any mature content warning can be bypassed easily now, my eight-year old sister was talking about penises without realizing it's wrong -_-||

Ruining their innocence so early ._.
I don't see anything wrong with sex or violence, it actually makes everything more interesting...
EXCEPT FOR When your favorite celebrity of all time does some passion scene with... an ugly girl... >.<

i don't like how they're conditioning children. you're supposed to like happy colors and pretty people, they've eliminated most racially biased programming. however there are still some things they try to imprint in our minds and i don't like that.
