The only one I ever had was a tarantula who's fangs had been broken so, yeah he was a bit creepy, but he couldn't hurt you if he tried. I never touched it anyway, it was someone else's and we were spider sitting.
Yes they are poisonous (if I'm not mistaken all spiders are) though black widows are one of the most deadly and dangerous. So even though they are cute and make reasonable pets I don't suggest trying to do it. I'm mad though so I do stuff like that!
LOL I thought my dad was about to that to me and my spider. So I brought up the fact he was playing with a copperhead about a month before. (blackmail = ) My Dad: "... go let the spider AND it's babies free." Me: My Dad: "Oh and no more pet spiders." *leaves* Me: TT-TT My childhood was very insane, as you can tell.
ehhh me and my friend pretended to take this spider as a pet once cause it ate some slug that freaked us out... so I guess I have, yeah. But I didn't like the spider, and I didn't touch it, if I did I'd probably pass out because I can't be in teh same room as a spider without wanting to run away.
I have one right now - more or less. I found this strange looking spider in my bedroom yesterday evening, and I placed a glass on it so it can't run over me while I sleep. Now I'm looking for a place where I can let it go without it freezing to death or coming back into my flat.
when I was little there was a spider web in my room, and the spider who lived there, and I didn't let anyone take it down of kill the spider because I thought it was my friend. and then after a while my parents called me down and showed me this news thing about how this spider had laid eggs in this boys ear, and I got so freaked out that I had them take down the web, kill the spider, and now I'm afraid of them to this day...
there was a time in my elementary school days where spider battles were popular and all the cool kids had a spider and a tiny spider case [with leaves in them and separate compartments] for the many different spiders that they'd buy. the critters weren't the furry, creepy find. they had large butts and were ticklish when they crawled on your hand. they were pretty easy to take care of, as well. :>
i think this is an inhumane practice now, though. :<
I don't, but a family friend did and she would sometimes bring it over and show us. She would feed it crickets or something and I remember watching it kill them and eat them. It really left an impression on me as a little kid. o.o
No, but my friend's little brother has a pet tarantula. He likes showing me this thing. I like wondering what would happen if I punch him for doing this. But he's a good kid so I withhold the urge to plaster my hand into his face...no matter how fun it would be
