depends on how often they post art. if they do once in like two month, they have been long forgotten...

Well, the human mind can only remember around 150 close contacts at once.

But once memory augmentations become a reality, we'll literally be living in Facebook.

I forget who a lot of people are even before name-changing was allowed. I wish DA had more ways to make it easier to remember, such as:
- Super Favorites (your favorite pic by that artist, to be displayed along with the artist's name/icon in your message center)
- The ability to writes notes/comments about each person you're watching, these will be private (they can't see) and will be displayed in message center.
- Same as above but with fields to post links to their galleries on other sites, and their blogs and tumblrs, or their actual site. And I would rather this be done manually by the watcher instead of the artist, because the artist might not bother linking to their other sites, and even if they did, they would withhold their sites where they post adult work, or stuff they don't want grandma to know about. Honestly if this was implemented it would mean DA would become ''the center of the internet'' since DA would literally act as a watch list for every other site and people could literally migrate watches from other sites (tumblr, etc) onto here.

As for the name changes, it does add confusion, which is why I don't simply delete notices of people changing their name. Whenever someone changes their name, I go to that user's stack in my message center. This helps me better associate their art with their new name and thus helps me remember. After I do that, then I delete the notice.
