Halo...HALO!!! I loved halo ever since Halo 2 (i think) came out. I got inactive about it for a while, but then picked up with it since about three years ago. I have been obsessed with Bleach and Naruto before, but got bored of both of them. Now, Halo has taken over my life!
I'm OBSESSED with something. It never goes away. It just...wanes a little bit, and then pops the hell out of the freaking blue. Oh, man. I just responded to something like this just a few minutes ago. Hm. Say, for instance, Jak & Daxter. I've loved that series since before I even played it after seeing just the boxart in 2001. And...after goodness knows how many years since the last time I so much as thought of writing anything related to J&D...I've got the most epic re-interest in it all over again!!
usually when i fall in love for something, i'm obsessed with it for a long time (for example i'm obsessed with a carachter since 2 years ago, and i still love him...) because when i like something so much, it's very difficult for me to change my mind...
Teenagers tend to become singularly obsessed with something due to puberty or the excitement of discovering something about themselves and their preferences. I used to be obsessed with Hunchback of Notre Dame. Curse you, Clopin and your jesterly sexiness...
Nowadays I just really, really like something, and it's fun for a while, but I'm more interested in what my brain creates than what other people have already created.
I want the world to be obsessed with MY work. So I concentrate on finishing my book so people get sucked into MY head. Bwahahahahahahahaa.....MARCH 25!!!
I stay with something for as long as it takes. Sometimes people try to push me out of a phase or a fandom, but I've come to realize until it's run its course and it's COMPLETELY out of my system, there is no "getting over it" & . My obsessions can last anywhere from a few days to a few YEARS!
I've loved Star Wars since I was eight (now I'm 13). And was on-and-off with Pokemon and Batman for a while, but now I'm more into it than ever! The only thing I really got out of is Digimon and watching TV frequently.
I go through phases of being ridiculously excited about something for a few weeks, then I gradually lose interest and move on, only to come back to it a year or two later and go through that excitement all over again
Happens with everything. Games, shows, music... everything.
It depends. Some things I've loved pretty much all my life, and I'll probably enjoy them for the rest of it too (Dinosaurs etc.). Some things I've picked up over the years and I'll probably continue to love them (Metal, Jurassic Park, Hellsing, ATLA, etc.). And some things I loved really deeply for some time, but then either it or I changed too much, and the love ended (Naruto, Bleach, etc.).
It really depends. I just go with the flow. For example, when I first played Kingdom Hearts, I was obsessed. Like, not in a fangirl way. Just like I was hooked on playing the game, knowing the story and experiencing every game there was. Other obsessions, like this one band I liked was brief and only lasted like a year even though I felt just as obsessed with it. Go figure.
All of the above~ I'd say it depends on the fandom, but HP fandom is p good and I'm not hugely in it (casually, tho, since the first book I guess), and Tales games don't have as much of a fandom as I'd like but I've been into them for like ten years so.
It depends? I start out finding something and maybe be obsessed with it for a few years, like with Hetalia, and maybe I'll drop it, or maybe i'll still like it but not as obsessively. Some things I like for a long time but just liking...
For me, it depends on how interested in it I am. Certain things I have loved ever since I found out about them. Some I have come to love. Many, though, I have turned and lost interest in. If I find something that can capture my interests, then I will probably follow it through to the end, or at least as long as it's on tv or I can find it on the internet.
I mean... If I like something, then I like it. o-o' I don't randomly get bored of it. I mean... After a while, the excitement goes down, but I usually still praise it if someone asks me about it, and I usually can go back and re-watch something or whatever. |P
I think it always depends on the subject. Sometimes I am interested in a story/character for barely longer than a month or so, and then I will never come back to it, and it some cases I develop almost an obsession for a story/character/whatever and stay with it forever. It really depends.
I still like most of the stuff in the past than the things now. Like Full Metal Panic, Rurouni Kenshin, and FRIENDS. The things I like today are Grimm, Jack Frost from RotG and the Avengers (but possibly more)
Depends on the thing... I was on an Avengers high that lasted from the first teasers to September-Octoberish. I've kind of fallen out of the fandom now, but I do revert right back to my fangirling state anytime any teaser or whatever appears in my vicinity. (Iron Man 3, looking at you.) NiGHTS I've been interested in for going on 2 years, and I'm still no where close to bored with it. Usually things follow the trend of Avengers with me going on random binges into that fandom at random times.
A while, like two months, get bored and interest goes into hibernation, few months/years pass, comes back and look at it with a new perspective spiced with nostalgia. And general thumb rule is that the younger I was when I became interested, the more I raise my eyebrow at it when I revisit it.
Some fandoms are easier to stay in for longer periods of time because of the amount of material (episodes, fanart, fanfictions, etc) you can find on it. For example it would be harder to keep into a lesser known indian comic series than it would be to keep into something like Sherlock.
My obsessions seem to never die away... luckily I seem to only have a certain amount of obsessive feeligns available so thigns an diminish over time as new ones enter the group. But even though they may be momentarily overtaken by something else, obsessions are forever.
I need to be obsessed with something. It's in my nature to obsess and pick apart every aspect of a fandom.
Right now it's Doctor Who. Before that it was Final Fantasy. I still love all my previous obsessions but not as much as my current. The longest an obsession has lasted was my Final Fantasy one. Eight years. We'll see how long this one lasts... lol...
