I listen to music It almost never works, but when it does I always come up with something brilliant!!! Like sometimes when I'm writing the script or storyboard for a manga I'll make sure I put music on that suits the mood of the scene and that works every time! But if the music doesn't suit the scene, or if you're just drawing randomly and the music doesn't suit your mood it won't work
I usually listen to music or look at other peoples art on DA (mostly Tyshea and Ai-Bee ). Sometimes, though, after a while of having an art block, an image of what I want to draw suddenly pops into my head and it's the greatest thing to happen to me at a time like that.
Definitely other. I wander around, listen to music, etc. I recently got a really good idea for a dragon wing pattern by eating fruit... i.e. I spent a half hour drawing the patterns inside the segments of an orange....

My friend taught me how to do this, and it surprisingly works, and it inspires me on so many levels. When I get block of any sort, writers, artist, etc., I take a wood block and write onto it, "(Whatever block I'm having) block.". Then, I take it outside, put it down, get a sledge hammer, and destroy it to bits. It might sound violent, but it does work for me. Seeing the look on people's faces when I smash the block though is just as inspiring.
I love that! I've gotta try it sometime... Wish I had a wooden block though XD Would it work if I used a soda can? Or just an old plastic can of coffee?? I don't really think I have the strength to smash wood... Oooh, what if I wrote it on some paper and burnt it?! > not as satisfying as smashing, but flames are pretty and inspiring!!!! XD
I do several things , I listen to music, watch an inspiring movie, watch other art, write words which come to my mind or go outside or do just SOMETHING. The problem is that I always think I have an art block. The good thing is, I have a box full of ideas(a real one , when I get an idea i write it on a piece of paper and put it there.)
I do that with my bestie Kyla! She's really good at listening and always knows what to say, so whenever I'm having artists-block I just talk to her about it and she'll always find a way to re-inspire me! Usually our deep conversation will be about my dreams to become a mangaka and be remembered and all that junk... That always gets me inspired to start drawing... But whenever we have one of those deep conversation, right when it's reached it's peak and it getting so deep that we're sounding like philosophers, one of us well burst out laughing and it'll end lol Then she'll just tell me to stop talking about it with her and just go and draw already
Keep drawing...keep going...work through it.... back when I use to have time to do much better art than I'm doing now... I would get my best work done after going through hours of struggle..and then it would start working... I use to be in a band with a fantastic guitar player who had one major problem, we'd goin to record our musuic and he'd get a block.. then he'd wait to become inspired...which ment drink and goof off....well, the band fell aprt, and we have very few recordings... so my best advice is.... keep going... work through it.. :boogie;
